Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Distress, often called the sixth vital sign, should be closely monitored in all patients—from diagnosis to end of life. In more severe cases, patients may even experience symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder that can impact their adherence to follow-up care. Learn about new tools for distress screening that will boost your ability to help your patients throughout the care continuum.

  1. Describe how oncology nursing care can be organized and enhanced through the use of routine screenings for distress.
  2. Identify to integrate screening for distress into your practice setting or own practice
  3. Explore the application of the screening for distress intervention through participating in several case studies revolving around clinical oncology scenarios and the use of screening for distress to organize the identification, assessment, and management of distress.
